Publish-i Puts Match Programmes on iPhones

The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) has selected zamano’s Publish-i Smartphone publishing application to enable supporters to download and read official match programmes on their iPhone or iPod touch devices.
The application launched in time for Saturday’s match against S. Africa, enabling rugby fans to download the programme for the game. Once downloaded, the programme can be retained on the handset for future reference.
Publish-i was formed in 2009 as a joint venture between zamano and Pixelsoup, a digital production company. It provides automated Smartphone publishing services to publishers and content owners, enabling them to expand their reach and monetise high quality, time sensitive print content. Print-ready publications such as comics, magazines and match programmes are automatically converted into a Smartphone format and then distributed by Publish-i as mobile applications through application stores, including Apple’s App Store, Google’s Android Market, Blackberry’s App World and Nokia’s Ovi store.
“Mobile phone applications are a logical next step in our digital strategy, and Publish-i has delivered a solution which allows us to extend our traditional match program to a much wider audience,” says IRFU Commercial Director, Padraig Power. “By using innovative platforms such as this, we can build better connections with our supporters and keep them continuously informed with news and information about Irish Rugby, both at a local and international level.”
